# Why your emails land in spam

> Fix the message habits that send your email to a recipient's spam folder, and ask us to check your domain's DNS records.

Most spam-folder problems come from something in the message itself or from your domain's DNS records. Start with what you can change, then ask the recipient to help, then ask support to check your domain. If your company email runs on Google Workspace, see [Google Workspace emails going to spam](/workspace-emails-going-to-spam/) to turn on DKIM.

## What you can change

- Avoid image-only emails, or attachments with no message text.
- Avoid spammy subject lines: ALL CAPS, "FREE" or many exclamation marks (!!!).
- Avoid URL shorteners in the message body.
- Do not **Bcc** large lists of recipients in one email.
- If you send your company address from Gmail, set it up with our SMTP server as shown in [Use Office Niaga email with Gmail or Outlook.com](/gmail-outlook-com/), so the mail goes out through our server.

## Ask the recipient to help

1. Ask them to mark your email as **Not spam**, or move it out of their spam folder.
2. Ask them to add your address to their contacts.

Most mail providers learn from this and deliver your next emails normally.

## Ask us to check your domain records

If your message and sending habits already look clean but mail still lands in spam, contact support on WhatsApp at [+60 16-916 3324](https://wa.me/60169163324) or email support@webimpian.com, and ask us to check the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your domain.

> **Tip**
> If a message came back to you instead of reaching spam, see [Understand a bounce message](/bounce-message/).

## Common issues

### Is your server blacklisted?

It can happen to any mail server. If several recipients suddenly report your mail as spam, contact support on WhatsApp at +60 16-916 3324 (https://wa.me/60169163324) and we will look into it.

### What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC?

DNS records that prove to other mail servers that mail from your domain is genuine. Ask support to check they are set up correctly for your domain.

### I fixed my message but it still goes to spam. Why?

Spam filters also look at your domain's sending history and DNS records, not just the message you sent. If your content and habits are already fine, ask support to check your domain records.
