# Fix "not available in your country" in Google Flow

> Google Flow and some new Google apps check the region of your Google Account. If the region is "Unknown Region", ask Google to change it to Malaysia.

Google Flow and some new Google apps are only available in some countries. Malaysia is one of them. The app decides your country from the **region of your Google Account**, not only from where you are. When that region is wrong or "Unknown Region", the app shows an error even though you are in Malaysia.

## Who sees this error

We saw this error on new Google Workspace accounts that an admin created. Google had not given these accounts a region, so their region was "Unknown Region". Personal Gmail accounts can have the same problem when Google links them to the wrong country.

The message is a little different in each app. In Google Flow it is "Flow is not available in your country yet."

## Check the region of your account

You can see the region in one minute. Do these steps on a computer, signed in with the account that gets the error.

1. Open [Google's region page](https://policies.google.com/country-association-form).
2. Make sure that the page shows your work email after "You're currently signed in as".
3. Read the region under "your account is associated with".

If the region is **Malaysia**, the region is not the cause. If it is **Unknown Region** or another country, continue to the next section.

## Ask Google to change the region to Malaysia

The form is on the same page. Send it once for each account that has the error.

1. Under **Which region should your account be associated with instead?**, select **Malaysia**.
2. Under **Why should this region be associated with your account?**, tick **I live here**.
3. Click **Submit**.

Google shows "Your request has been submitted". Do not send the form again for the same account.

## Wait for the new region

Google does not change the region immediately. Open the region page again after a few hours. The page now shows "The region associated with your account will change soon", with the new region and the effective date.

In our test with 22 new accounts, Google showed the effective date within 4 hours. The new region was active about one day after we sent the form. A few accounts took longer.

When the change is active, the page shows **Malaysia** as your region.

## Open the app again

After the region shows Malaysia, open [Google Flow](https://flow.google.com) again. Refresh the page if it still shows the old message. The Flow home page opens with the **New project** button.

If the app still shows the error one day after the region shows Malaysia, contact us. We will open a case with Google support for you.

## Common issues

### I sent the form, but the page still says Unknown Region. Is something wrong?

No. Until the change is active, the page shows "Unknown Region" and below it "The region associated with your account will change soon", with the new region and the effective date. Do not send the form again. Wait until the effective date, then open the page again.

### Can an admin change the region for all users in the Admin console?

We did not find a setting for this in the Google Admin console. The form changes only the account that is signed in, so each user must send it from their own account.

### Will a VPN fix it?

No. The app checks the region of your Google Account, not only your internet connection. Change the account region with the steps on this page.

### The Flow app on my phone works, but flow.google.com does not. Why?

We saw this on one account. The Android app opened while the account region was still "Unknown Region", but the website did not. Change the account region, and the website will open too.
